COVID-19 Updates

April 7th Update:

Winter and Spring Sports Updates

Greetings NAKID friends ~

As you know, NAKID Social Sports games are currently on hold due to the safe & effective social distancing measures in place across the U.S. We are happy to do our part to flatten the curve but that doesn't mean we don't miss our volleyball nights! Keep reading for more information on our winter/spring program and how we're planning to pick back up again once it's safe to do so.

WINTER/SPRING SEASON

COVID-19 struck midway through the winter season. We only got in about half the season so far. We still hope to be able to continue holding games and finish out the season, but it depends when we are able to safely return. Depending on the timeline, we will either make up the winter season games or give everyone a pro-rated credit for the cancelled games.

Once we have the ability to reschedule the games, we will email all registered players will an updated plan.  Based on the information we have available to us today, we are planning to restart our spring leagues in late May or early June. This time frame may change as the next few weeks unfold. But rest assured, we will be back!

Unfortunately, we are not able to process refunds at this time. We are most grateful for your patience and flexibility, which enables us to sustain NAKID Social Sports and continue to provide the leagues you love. We promise to deliver on the fun volleyball experience you expect from us! Again, we plan to make up all games and you'll be issued a credit for any games that aren't able to be rescheduled.

NEXT STEPS

We will keep in touch as events unfold & send out any updates regarding winter/spring programming as soon as they are available. In the meantime, feel free to e-mail us with any questions or concerns you might have.

See you soon,

NAKID Dallas

March 16th Update:

Flattening the Curve: Winter Volleyball Postponed

In the past few days it has become apparent that it is no longer safe to operate our leagues as people everywhere fight to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Therefore, all winter programming is currently suspended til further notice. That includes all league nights, tournaments & parties.

NAKID Social Sports will be practicing social distancing for the next few weeks. Many municipalities we operate leagues in have already started to close bars, restaurants and parks due to the spread of the coronavirus. Not only is social distancing a best practice, it is the only option available to most of us as daily life begins to shut down across the U.S.

The CDC has recommended all gatherings with 50 or more people be postponed for 8 weeks. We are hoping that these guidelines will improve once our communities get a handle on the spread of the virus. We will have another update to you on the status of our winter season the week of April 6th

Looking ahead, we are still anticipating to run NAKID leagues this spring. The start of the season will most likely be pushed back in accordance with local & federal guidelines around events & gatherings. While we don't have all the answers regarding our spring program today, we are planning to proceed with the season once it is deemed safe to do so.

This is certainly the biggest challenge NAKID has ever had to face since we began operating. Truth be told, if the pandemic gets out of hand, it could drive us out of business altogether. Countless small businesses, independent contractors, and tipped & hourly wage workers across this country are struggling with the same fears. To anyone who is struggling, please know you are not alone! We are all in this together, come hell or high water. Don't hesitate to ask for help from a friend, family member, or even your friendly neighborhood kickball league :)

We urge you to continue to follow all guidelines posted by state & federal officials. Wash your hands & maintain a safe distance at all times. And if you're in a position to provide help to those in need, consider donating to your local food bank, homeless shelter, or give blood.

If you have any questions regarding the postponed winter season, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at info@playnakid.com.

Stay safe & healthy,
NAKID Social Sports
